Moody's: Arcos Dorados faces evolving consumer trends and competition in Latin America, even while expanding continually

Arcos Dorados, the world's largest independent McDonald's franchisee, faces several challenges in Latin America, including changes in consumer trends and a high level of competition, despite expanding continually to meet its franchise agreement targets, says Moody's Investors Service in a new report. "Arcos Dorados has 44% of its restaurants in Brazil, its main market, where a shift in strategy to prioritize volume over profitability is helping the company expand as the economy recovers," says Barbara Mattos, a Moody's Senior Vice President.
