Some Victory: Big Three U.S. Airlines Win Exactly Nothing In Settlement With Persian Gulf Carriers

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and officials from the United Arab Emirates on Monday agreed to settle, sort of, the three-year-old dispute over alleged illegal state subsidies paid by the U.A.E. to two global airlines based there, Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways. The agreement parallels one reached in January between the U.S. and Qatar, home of the third member of the Persian Gulf Three, Qatar Airways.
