Flying over the Christmas holidays will be twice as nice this year for American Airlines pilots, thanks to a renegotiation following a scheduling snafu that initially put thousands of flights at risk of cancellation. Pilots for Fort Worth-based American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) will receive double their usual hourly pay for picking up the holiday shifts, according to a message that went out to American Airlines pilots Monday. American Airlines late Friday reached an agreement with its pilots union to save thousands of Christmastime flights without assigned pilots.
