With $317 million, “Jumanji” is now the fifth-highest-grossing domestic release of all time for Sony Corp. (SNE), surpassing 2012’s James Bond flick “Skyfall.” It’s also the first film to top the box office in its third, fourth and fifth weekends after ranking second in its first two. “Jumanji” has grossed $768 million worldwide so far. The Warner Bros. (TWX) movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon as the first soldiers to enter Afghanistan after 9/11 — on horseback.
