AT&T, Verizon become unlikely partners

AT&T (NYSE: T) and Verizon Wireless (VZ) are hardly friends, but the two largest wireless carriers in the U.S. are setting aside their differences on a mutually beneficial cell tower deal. The companies said Monday that they’re collaborating to build hundreds of cell towers together, tapping a New York City firm for the infrastructure work. Construction plans on the first set of towers will begin during the first quarter of 2018 and will be up and running shortly thereafter.
