Appian's board is giving its CEO a big potential bonus. He intends to donate it to charity.

Appian Corp. CEO and co-founder Matt Calkins has a plan for what to do with potentially tens of millions of dollars in fresh stock awards: donate the entire amount to charity. "While I greatly appreciate that structure and the additional compensation, I wanted to inform the Board that it is my intention to donate 100% of the income from this award to charity if and when I am able to exercise the option," Calkins wrote in a letter to Mike Mulligan, chairman of Appian's compensation committee.
