Moody's says Musk's plan to take Tesla private could hurt its credit rating

Jeff Cox

Moody's said Elon Musk's plan to take Tesla private is "credit negative" for the electric car maker. The rating service did not cut its grade for Tesla's debt, which remains speculative to junk. A possible move by Tesla TSLA to go private could hurt the electric car maker's credit standing as cash flow remains tight, according to Moody's Investors Service.
