Sun Country swings to loss; CEO cites 'training challenges,' capacity limits

Shares of Sun Country Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCY) fell sharply Tuesday after the airline posted a second-quarter loss, noting that "training challenges" hampered its ability to take advantage of high demand for travel. The Minneapolis-based airline posted a net loss of $3.9 million, or 7 cents per diluted share, compared to a profit of $52 million, or 84 cents per diluted share, for the same quarter a year ago. Shares of Sun Country were trading down 9% at $19 in midday trading.
