Home Depot overcomes hurricanes, reports robust profits, raises expectations

The Home Depot Inc. on Nov. 14 said it overcame natural disasters and reported strong results for the third quarter of 2017 and raised its earnings expectations for the full year. Home Depot said it earned $2.2 billion during the quarter, up 10 percent over the same period last year. Based on the results, the company said it is lifting its fiscal 2017 sales growth guidance and now expects sales will be up approximately 6.3 percent and comp sales will be up approximately 6.5 percent over 2016's.
