Microsoft to release lower-cost tablet that competes with Apple's iPad, says Bloomberg

Bloomberg reported Wednesday that Microsoft Corp. is looking to release a lower-cost family of Surface tablets to better compete with Apple Inc.'s iPad Pro. The devices could launch as early as the second half of this year, Bloomberg said, citing people familiar with Microsoft's plans. The tablets will have 10-inch screens, according to Bloomberg, which is smaller than what can be found on the Surface Pro but about the same as what the iPad offers.
