According to Reuters, Edward Lampert of ESL Investments has made a fresh $5 billion bid on the Sears Holdings (SHLDQ) takeover. The new bid will be evaluated by Sears management at a bankruptcy auction on January 14, Reuters added. In his $4.4 billion bid through his hedge fund, ESL Investments, Sears’s ex-CEO was willing to take over Sears as a whole.
