Amazon wants your back-to-college dollars

You’ve barely had time to peel the “hi, mom” message tape off your child’s high school graduation mortarboard and Amazon is already pushing you to prep for their next adventure: outfitting their college dorm room. Amazon is promoting its Off-to-College store as a place for students and parents to shop a curation of necessities for the dorm, classes and extracurricular activities in one place “without sacrificing valuable summer vacation time.” The online retailer has recruited Ava Phillippe, the daughter of Reese Witherspoon along with other “college influencers” for the site who have compiled room styles including earthy artsy, casual throwback, modern minimal and eclectic chic. Witherspoon, who owns clothing line Draper James, also partners with Crate & Barrel on a line of Southern-inspired home accessories.
