United slashes flights from Denver airport amid widespread cuts

United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAL) is preemptively cutting its fall flight schedule in an attempt to reduce delays. The Chicago-based airline cut 707 total flights in and out of Denver International Airport for September alone, representing 160,000 seats, according to data from aviation company Cirium Inc. One of the steepest cuts was to the route from DIA to San Francisco International Airport. United is Denver's largest airline by passengers, flights operated and seats offered, according to Denver Business Journal research.
