Copa Airlines gets set to jet daily to Panama City from Tampa

In about two weeks, Copa Airlines will begin daily nonstop flights between Tampa International Airport and the carrier's hub in Panama City in a move that should bring millions in tourism dollars to the region. The expanded service from Copa (NYSE: CPA), from four days a week to daily flights, is set to begin on July 14. Tampa should garner an estimated additional $14,471,258 in direct economic impact to the region by adding the three extra flights per week, said Kenneth Strickland, TIA’s director of research and air service development.
