Why Ford’s Q3 2018 Results from China Might Not Impress Investors

In July 2018, the company’s China sales were lower than in August at 57,662 vehicle units but fell sharply by about 32% on a YoY (year-over-year) basis. With this, Ford’s Chinese market sales have fallen ~27% YoY to 520,788 units in the first eight months of 2018. In August 2018, sales of Mondeo, Ford’s family car model, continued to witness a steep fall for the eighth consecutive month after performing well in Q4 2017.
