DiNapoli: Wynn Resorts needs to disclose political contributions

Just when Wynn Resorts thought it thwarted one angry shareholder, another crops up. New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli on Tuesday urged the casino operator to disclose all of its political spending. “Shareholders have the right to know if their investment dollars are being spent on political agendas that are not in the company’s best interest,” DiNapoli, who serves as trustee of the $209 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund said in a statement. DiNapoli also asked that shareholders withhold their votes on incumbent board members, citing their failure to perform their fiduciary duty to the company during Steve Wynn’s time at the helm of the company.
