As we’ve already seen, utility stocks were weak, largely due to strength in Treasury yields this year. The ten-year Treasury yield peaked at 3.13% in May and currently trades at ~2.9%. The ten-year Treasury yield is usually seen as a benchmark for mortgages and other loans. Any further rise in interest rates could make loan repayments even more expensive.
