[$$] American Airlines’ Profit Warning Sends Carrier Shares Lower

American Airlines Group Inc. trimmed its profit guidance for 2018, raising concerns that U.S. carriers are falling short of revenue expectations and sending shares down across the sector. Delta Air Lines Inc. last week also trimmed its fourth-quarter revenue outlook, a result of slower-than-expected sales of pricey last-minute holiday tickets. Shares in American fell 4.1%, shares in United Continental Holdings Group Inc. fell 2.85%, and shares in Southwest Airlines Co. edged down 0.2%.
