Bank of America donates closed South Baltimore branch to community group
A former branch of Bank of America in South Baltimore was donated to a community development group Monday for conversion to a neighborhood center. The deed to the shuttered Bank of America branch at 3601 S. Hanover St. in Brooklyn was turned over to the Greater Baybrook Alliance, a nonprofit community development corporation, with plans to turn the nearly 4,000-square-foot red brick building into the center in the coming years. Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) — the largest bank by market share in Greater Baltimore — closed the Brooklyn branch during the pandemic and never reopened it.
