Sonos, Like Fitbit Before it, Is Going Public Just as Competition Heats Up

After pricing its IPO at $15 -- below a prior range of $17 to $19 -- Sonos opened at $16 and is currently at $17.45. This column has been updated from July 7th to discuss Sonos's August 2nd IPO, and the arrival of AirPlay 2 support for the company's hardware. The company's product line now includes four standalone speakers (priced between $149 and $499) and three TV soundbars (priced between $399 and $699), as well as a home theater subwoofer, multi-speaker and home theater bundles (sold at a discount) and a slew of accessories.
