Hyatt Has a Texas-Sized Problem With New Lawsuit
Hyatt Hotels has a big new problem on its hands that could result in a better options for potential guests. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing Hyatt Hotels for what the state calls "deceptive trade practices" due to allegations that the hotel would market rooms at prices that were not actually available to the public. Hyatt gets away with the practice by tacking on "mandatory and unavoidable fees" -- like resort fees, destination fees, or amenity fees -- that serve to balloon the price of a stay at the hotel.
