The $12 lip balm Ina Garten says she loves is also a millennial favorite

Food Network star Ina Garten shook up Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 23 to share that she is a fan of Glossier lip balm. It wouldn't be so startling if the Barefoot Contessa regularly posted her beauty routine or shared brands she's a fan of, but nonetheless, she shared a photo of seven Glossier Balm Dotcoms and even revealed which one is her favorite.

"Loved my visit today to @glossier !! Their collection of lip balm is - delicious! My favorite is birthday balm with a little glitter. Don’t we all need a little glitter after the holidays? ❤️❤️," she wrote in her Instagram caption.

Glossier's Balm Dotcom is a hydrating balm that according to its product description, is "packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish dry, chafed skin." It's made with natural ingredients like beeswax, castor oil and lanolin, which give it a thick, waxy texture that stays put, but isn't sticky. The product is also hypoallergenic and cruelty-free.

The original Balm Dotcom is clear and fragrance-free and also works as a skin salve, meaning you can use it on everything from dry elbows to cuticles. Personally, I keep a tube of this on my desk. It's great for the wintertime when the air in the office is especially dry!

Balm Dotcom also comes in seven flavored varieties, some with pink, red, coral or berry tints. Garten's self-proclaimed favorite, the Birthday Balm Dotcom, is clear, but has a subtle shimmer. While Birthday will give your lips some shine, the rest of the line can make your lips look more naturally plump and hydrated, not overly glam.

Garten appears to have visited Glossier HQ, where the direct-to-consumer beauty brand has a conference room named after her. Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss also posted a photo on IG confirming the meeting. Of course, several of Garten's followers commented asking if the post was sponsored, but she confirmed that it wasn't. "No! I never promote anything so I can just share what I love! xxxx," she commented back.

So if you can't make your own lip balm, store bought is fine — especially if it's Glossier.
