Animal Kingdom, Royal Delta among 13 horses running in $10 million Dubai World Cup

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and Royal Delta are in a full field of 13 horses for Saturday's $10 million Dubai World Cup.

The pair and Dullahan lead one of the strongest fields in the world's richest race.

Animal Kingdom drew the No. 12 post on Wednesday while Royal Delta — bidding to become the first filly to win the race — leaves from No. 8. Dullahan goes from No. 3.

The early favorite is Hunter's Light, drawn in the No. 4 post.

Also entered were African Story, Capponi, Kassiano, Meandre, Monterosso, Planteur, Red Cadeux, Side Glance and Treasure Beach.

The nine-race World Cup card has a total purse of $27.25 million.
