2020 Honda Civic Si Updated with New Features, Tweaked Styling
Like other members of the Honda Civic lineup, the sporty Civic Si is getting a facelift for 2020.
Along with styling updates, the Si also gets revised gearing and standard Honda Sensing driver-assist features.
The 2020 Honda Civic Si goes on sale September 6 for a starting price of $25,930.
The zesty Honda Civic Si sport compact is getting similar updates to its other Civic siblings for 2020. Styling tweaks to the front and rear ends are the chief exterior changes, while there are also new standard features and slightly different gearing for the standard six-speed manual transmission that's said to improve acceleration response.
Both sedan and coupe versions of the Civic Si have a different front bumper, grille, and headlights, while the rear bumper gets some reshaping and the matte-black 18-inch wheels are new. Inside, the seats and instrument panel get additional red accents—because we all know that red means sporty. Honda's suite of driver-assist features, which was previously unavailable on the Si, is now standard across the board.
The only mechanical change is a six-percent shorter final-drive ratio, which Honda says will make for more responsive acceleration. We're not sure that a change this slight will improve the Si's acceleration times in our testing, though; previously, a Civic Si coupe with summer tires went from zero to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, while a Civic Si sedan with all-season tires did the deed in 6.7 seconds. We'll have to get a 2020 model in to find out the result of the change.
Pricing goes up by $700 across the board, with both the coupe and the sedan now starting at $25,930 or $26,130 with the optional $200 summer tires.
