22-Year-Old Opens Unique Hair Salon Inspired by Cancer-Stricken Mother and Autistic Brother

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM –  22-year-old Tiana Bell to host grand opening of the "Allen Michael Experience," a 1400 sq. ft. salon located at 29193 Northwestern Hwy in Southfield.  Unlike your "typical" hair salon, Allen Michael Experience not only services a diverse clientele providing hair extensions, hair weave, custom wigs, and traditional hair care, but a large population of their clientele have been cancer-stricken.

In 2012, at the age of 18, while an undergraduate student at Michigan State University, Tiana started a business of buying and selling hair extensions and hair weaves online and on campus.  "It was just a 'side hustle.' Something to help me put a little money in my pocket while in school," says Tiana.

In 2014, Tiana's mother, Tiffani Bell, was diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer.  While undertaking chemotherapy, like most, Tiffani lost all of her hair.  In an effort to make her mother feel "normal" and "pretty," Tiana created and styled custom-made wigs for her.  Friends, family, and the public soon took notice to the stylish wigs. Demand grew, and by the age of 21, Tiana generated a six-figure income for herself.

With her mother battling cancer while trying to raise three boys, one whom is autistic (Allen Michael), Tiana set aside her college dreams and moved back home to help care for her mother and three brothers, turning her "side hustle" into a full-time, thriving entrepreneurial career.

"Supply and demand outgrew my closet, living room and basement. Hair began to take over our home," laughs Tiana.  "My little hobby turned into something really special for me –- not only styling wigs for my mom, but I began to style for and help other women battling this disease.  That made it special.  It touched my heart.  Doing something that I truly love and heart-warming, I had to name the brand after my special love, my brother Allen Michael," says Tiana.

The public and media are welcome to attend the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Tour the "Allen Michael" salon on Saturday, March 4th from 4 until 7 PM. Come see what the experience is all about.
