The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. HIG was founded in 1810 and is recognized as a renowned insurance company in the United States. The company believes that “human-centric investing can create solutions and advisor tools that not only strengthen bottom lines, but strengthen advisor-client relationships by helping investors better realize their true life goals.”

Hartford Funds — a segment of Hartford Financial Services — had total assets of $91.5 billion under management as of Jun 30, 2017. The company claims that it manages more than 55 funds across a wide range of styles and asset classes.

Hartford Global Growth HLS IB HBGLX seeks appreciation of capital. The fund maintains a diversified portfolio by investing a bulk of its assets in common stocks of companies located throughout the world, which may also include the U.S. Hartford Global Growth HLS IB has returned 20.2% over one year. 

Matthew Hudson has been one of the fund managers of HBGLX since 2007.

Hartford Growth Allocation A HRAAX seeks growth of capital for the long run. The fund invests in various other mutual funds and ETFs advised by Hartford Funds Management Company, LLC. The Investment Manager allocates around 65-95% of its assets in equity securities and about 5-35% of assets to fixed income bonds. Hartford Growth Allocation A has returned 11.4% in a year’s time.

As of July 2017, HRAAX held 15 issues, with 16.09% of its assets invested in
Hartford Core Equity F. 

Hartford Strategic Income A HSNAX seeks total returns over the long run with current income. HSNAX invests in debt securities in both domestic and foreign countries that are expected to offer high total returns. It invests in debt securities including junk bonds and investment-grade securities. Hartford Strategic Income A has returned 7.3% in the last one-year period.

HSNAX has an expense ratio of 0.96% compared with the category average of 1.03%.
