Although the phrase affordable luxury cars might sound like an oxymoron, it’s not — especially if you opt to lease rather than purchase, which can be cheaper. The monthly cost of a luxury car lease can vary, of course, depending on factors such as your credit rating and the price of the vehicle.

GOBankingRates identified 30 luxury cars that individuals could lease for less than $1,000 a month and calculated the monthly cost on the basis of poor, fair, good or excellent credit. The better your credit rating, the more affordable lease terms you’ll likely be offered. For this study, the lease term assumed was 36 months with 12,000 annual miles. Find out the cheapest luxury car to lease — and the most expensive one — based on the type of credit you have.

2019 Volvo S60

  • Monthly lease with excellent credit: $580

  • Monthly lease with good credit: $609

The 2019 Volvo S60 T5 FWD Inscription model has the most affordable leasing options out of all of the vehicles on the list. The monthly lease for those with poor credit is $275 under $1,000, whereas the monthly lease for excellent credit is $420 less than $1,000. Drivers get to enjoy the 250-horsepower, 4-cylinder, direct-injected turbocharged engine.

2020 BMW 4-Series

Only people with good and excellent credit will qualify for monthly leases under $1,000 for a 2020 BMW M4 coupe. With a 425-horsepower, 6-cylinder engine coupled with BMW’s M TwinPower Turbo technology, the car certainly earns its MSRP of $69,150, but such a high price tag bumps lease options for those with fair and poor credit past the $1,000 threshold.

2019 Lincoln Continental

The only way you’ll pay less than $1,000 a month on a Lincoln Navigator is if you have excellent credit. The reason? The SUV’s MSRP of $73,205.
