ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) _ 3D Systems Corp. (DDD) on Tuesday reported a loss of $24.4 million in its first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Rock Hill, South Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 22 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and severance costs, came to 9 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 1 cent per share.
The maker of 3D printers posted revenue of $152 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $166.2 million.
3D Systems shares have climbed 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $10.60, a climb of 5.5% in the last 12 months.
