3M Launches Filtration Monitor App, Boosts Ergonomic Safety

Zacks Equity Research

Diversified industrial goods manufacturer 3M Company MMM recently announced the launch of 3M ScaleGard Blend Series of Products. These state-of-the-art products enable flawless operation of expensive equipment by intelligently calculating water filter usage to provide Recipe Quality Water.

Today’s fast-pace world revolves around quick-time coffee shops, and this high demand for coffee calls for an advanced technology water filter. Local technicians have traditionally relied on estimating usage rather than having accurate information. 3M has very intelligently introduced its Water Filtration Products, which will provide adequate amount of water required to brew the perfect cup of coffee.

This new technology will have a positive impact on the global foodservice industry as it will be cost and time efficient. Using this new product, the quality of commercial espresso will be maintained throughout.

The 3M ScaleGard Blend Series contains a powerful water filtration system equipped with mobile monitoring capabilities thanks to a Wi-Fi enabled head that connects to a user-friendly app. Once the system is running, owners and service members can track the gallons of water processed through the filter, and when the filter nears the end of its filtration capacity, the app will notify the owner that it’s time for a new cartridge.

This monitoring machine is most advantageous for clients who have to maintain a number of coffee machines on a daily basis. This technology will enable them to be accurate and avoid time lag which could adversely affect their business.

With such smart and innovative products, 3M strives to make its customers’ lives easier. The company also recently launched its SGLP-CL Series of Reverse Osmosis Systems which is used in combi-ovens and boilerless steamers. This system reduces harsh minerals that can build up in steam equipment, while minimizing maintenance and replacement costs, and saving customers an estimated $300 per year on an average.

In a separate press release, 3M announced that StrongArm Technologies ErgoSkeleton personal performance equipment will be available for purchase through its distribution channel across the U.S. By joining forces with leading safety protection provider StrongArm Technologies, 3M is well positioned to bolster its portfolio in the industrial ergonomic safety equipment industry.

The new product launches and strategic tie-up will likely boost the company’s top line going forward.

Maplewood, MN-based 3M, operates in more than 65 countries, and manufactures in excess of 55,000 products. Its products include adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, dental and orthodontic products, electronic materials, medical products, car-care products (sun films, polish, wax, car shampoo, treatment for the exterior, interior and the under chassis rust protection), electronic circuits, and optical films.
