77 at Travelocity center in Pa. losing jobs

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) -- Travelocity is laying off 77 employees at a cell center in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Texas-based travel company said Tuesday that the employees in the Hanover Industrial Estates facility in Luzerne County have been notified they will lose their jobs on Dec. 13. About 250 employees currently work there.

Company spokesman Joel Frey said affected employees will be eligible for severance pay and can apply for other positions in the call center. He said career counseling will also be provided.
