California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Selects CGI to Transform State's Construction Management System

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA--(Marketwire -10/26/11)- CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB - News)(TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced that the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has selected CGI to transform its Construction Management System (CMS) utilizing business process management (BPM) and a service-oriented architecture. The project is valued at US$13.7 million over three years and includes one year of system maintenance and operations. Under the same contract, six one-year options for additional maintenance and operations are available.

CGI will transform Caltrans' construction management business processes by automating a paper-based workflow and replacing inflexible, outdated computer systems that are costly to modify and do not keep up with changing business needs. The new Web-based system will provide mobile job site computing, smart forms and online document management to easily research project records and facilitate timely reporting.

CMS will integrate with the Department's newly implemented Enterprise Resource Planning Financial Infrastructure (E-FIS) system which utilizes CGI's built-for-government AMS Advantage® ERP solution. CGI's AMS Advantage supports this type of critical business extension, allowing clients to fully leverage their investment in the product.

"Caltrans is one of the first departments in California to implement a system with service-oriented architecture to increase system agility and lower both maintenance and integration costs," said Josetta Bull, Vice-President and CGI State of California Account Executive. "CGI is thrilled to continue our partnership with the Department to deliver a system that can generate cost savings for the State of California."
