On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 4 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 3 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 2 cents per share.
The provider of networking technologies posted revenue of $61.4 million in the period.
A10 Networks shares have declined 11 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $7.36, a decrease of 19 percent in the last 12 months.
