PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen another 5 cents in the last week, but the price remains considerably higher than the national average.
The weekly price survey by AAA Southern New England released Monday found the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in Rhode Island is $3.39.
Prices locally are down 14 cents compared to a month ago, but the current price is 14 cents more than the national per-gallon average of $3.25.
Rhode Islanders were paying 34 cents more, or an average of $3.73 a gallon, a year ago.
The AAA survey found prices ranging from a low of $3.23 to a high of $3.57 a gallon.
