ADP Canada National Employment Report: Employment in Canada Increased by 1,042,900 Jobs in June 2020

TORONTO , July 16, 2020 /CNW/ -- Employment in Canada increased by 1,042,900 jobs from May to June according to the June ADP® Canada National Employment Report. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Canada National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute®. The report, which is derived from actual ADP payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm payroll employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

"The labour market posted employment growth as a result of businesses reopening and many returning to work," said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. "Nearly every sector showed positive gains with trade and professional business services leading the way. Manufacturing, however, experienced job losses."

The May total of jobs added was revised from 208,400 to -2,951,400.

The July 2020 ADP Canada National Employment Report will be released at 8:30a.m.ET on August 20, 2020 .
