The Summerville, South Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents per share.
The drug developer posted revenue of $1.4 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported net income of $4.2 million, or 25 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $26.9 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $4.15. A year ago, they were trading at $1.56.
