AFC Cup: Bengaluru FC expecting 18000 fans at the Kanteerava

Bengaluru FC are expecting close to 18000 fans to throng the Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday for the high profile AFC Cup semi-final’s second leg against Johor Darul Ta’zim.

The I-League champions have put in a lot of effort in order to promote the game with banners and posters in English and Kannada seen across the Garden City.

“We have sold almost 15000 tickets by now,” informed Mandar Tamhane, the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Bengaluru FC.

While Praful Patel, the president of the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) presence for the said game wasn’t confirmed yet, Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) president Aaditya Thackeray is expected to cheer for Bengaluru FC from the stands.

Meanwhile, Vijay Goel, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, also sent his best wishes to Bengaluru FC and hoped that they become the first Indian club to make it into the AFC Cup final.
