Air Products and Chemicals (APD) announced that it will feature two technologies for metals processors at PowderMet 2013 in Chicago, Ill., from June 24-27. The company will introduce a new process for accelerated cooling for sinter-hardening of low-alloy steels, which will lower material costs and boost hourly production.
Air Products’ specialists will also introduce a new cold plasma technology that can eliminate intergranular oxidation during carburizing and hardening atmospheres. Further, Air Products’ marketing manager for metals processing will also showcase and field test results from its "Evaluation of Accelerated Forced-convection Cooling Methods for Sinter-hardening of Low-alloy Steels”.
Air Products will also present its range of technical services, innovative equipment and technology solutions such as its Atmosphere Humidification System for extended belt life and plasma-activated nitriding of stainless steels, and the complete range of industrial gases.
Last month, Air Products highlighted its industrial gas-based technologies and process improvement solutions at PBE 2013 in Columbus, Ohio. The company's technologies are expected to help powder and bulk solids processors operate more efficiently and economically. Air Products also presented its complete range of industrial gases with a variety of delivery options, specially designed to match each customer's needs.
