After much teasing on social media, the Canadian singer-songwriter unveiled the first song from her upcoming new EP, "This Summer."
"Ready," which was produced by Midi Jones and Jon Levine, sees Cara getting over an indecisive love interest.
"I think it's safe to say that you would always change/New colors day-to-day, my friend, you are a hurricane/The look on your face, all the things you say/Send me to outer space, my friend, you test my patience," she wonders over a reggae-infused beat.
"Ready" marks Cara's first new single since releasing her critically-acclaimed sophomore album "The Pains of Growing Up," which came out in 2018.
The catchy song is set to appear on her upcoming new EP, "This Summer," due out September 6 via Def Jam Recordings.
"Caught the writing bug out of the blue and made an EP. It's called 'This Summer.' I'll be releasing a new track every couple of weeks until its release," the vocalist teased on Instagram.
This fall, Cara will go on a North American tour in support of her new album, with tickets going on sale on July 26.
The singer is currently on the road as a support act for Shawn Mendes, who is in the middle of his North American trek.
