PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) on Tuesday reported first-quarter earnings of $15 million.
On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had net income of 12 cents.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 12 cents per share.
The maker of steel and specialty metals posted revenue of $1 billion in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $978.4 million.
Allegheny Technologies shares have increased 17 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 16 percent. The stock has decreased 3 percent in the last 12 months.
