Several golfers had their games interrupted in Florida by a highly unusual sight on Friday: a python battling an alligator.

Richard Nadler was one of the golfers to post photos and footage on social media of the surprising encounter at The Golf Club at Fiddler's Creek in Naples.

"'Wild' day on the 10th hole today!" Nadler captioned several photos of the two massive beasts tangled together next to a lake. "That's an alligator and a Burmese python entwined. The alligator seems to have the upper hand."

According to WILX-TV, several witnesses said they saw the alligator eventually drag the python into the water. There was also personnel from the club on hand to prevent anyone from getting too close to the animals.

Nadler told NBC 2 he was rather unfazed by the unsettling sight.

"In this particular golf course, there is a lot of wildlife. It's an absolutely beautiful course, with tons of wildlife. We don't normally see these animals entwined or having a fight or fighting for their life or whatever, but in this case the alligator is wrapped with this python," he said.
