YARDLEY, Pa. (AP) _ Alliqua Inc. (ALQA) on Tuesday reported a loss of $17.1 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Yardley, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 61 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 17 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 19 cents per share.
The wound care products maker posted revenue of $4.9 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.2 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $28.2 million, or $1.01 per share. Revenue was reported as $18.2 million.
Alliqua expects full-year revenue in the range of $19.8 million to $20.7 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit 78 cents. A year ago, they were trading at 98 cents.
