AllScripts: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

CHICAGO (AP) _ Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. (MDRX) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $374.7 million.

The Chicago-based company said it had net income of $2.14 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 20 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.

The electronic health records company posted revenue of $442.3 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $538.4 million, which also missed Street forecasts. Ten analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $563.9 million.

For the year, the company reported net income of $363.7 million, or $2.04 per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $2.13 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, AllScripts said it expects revenue in the range of $430 million to $440 million. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $560.2 million.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of 65 cents to 70 cents per share.

AllScripts shares have increased 24 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $11.94, a drop of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
