WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMAG) on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $22.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 64 cents per share. Losses, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 60 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 98 cents per share.
The specialty drugmaker posted revenue of $88.1 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $90.1 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $65.8 million, or $1.91 per share. Revenue was reported as $474 million.
AMAG Pharmaceuticals expects full-year revenue in the range of $365 million to $415 million.
AMAG Pharmaceuticals shares have risen roughly 7 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 19 percent in the last 12 months.
