WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ AMAG Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMAG) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $3.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 10 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 58 cents per share.
The specialty drugmaker posted revenue of $158.3 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $157.2 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $199.2 million, or $5.71 per share. Revenue was reported as $610 million.
AMAG Pharmaceuticals expects full-year revenue in the range of $500 million to $560 million.
AMAG Pharmaceuticals shares have climbed 46 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 18 percent in the last 12 months.
