AMAs 2017: Diana Ross and host Tracee Ellis Ross create a wild, stylish, show-stopping night

Okay, how do we join the Ross family?!

Tracee Ellis Ross hosted the American Music Awards on Sunday, and as her mom Diana Ross was honored with one of the biggest awards of the night, the whole extended family took to the stage for one big, loving finale.

But first, let's talk about the outfits! As is typical for awards show hosts, Tracee had a ton of outfit changes through the night -- and each one was more surprising than the next.

After strutting the red carpet in a floor-length sequined gown, Tracee opened the big night in an over-the-top ensemble that truly defies words. Let's just say you wouldn't want to be seated behind her to watch a movie.

As the show wore on, Tracee donned everything from sparkles to tulle -- and even wore one of her mom's iconic outfits from decades ago. (She found it while "shopping" in her mom's garage, she admitted.)

Diana hit the stage herself to close the night with a medley of some of her greatest hits, and everyone was on their feet -- including, of course, her family! Her grandchildren hopped up on stage to dance along, and soon the whole clan joined them. Check out her grandson in the slideshow above -- he couldn't stop dancing!

"I'm sending love out there to all of you, each and everyone of you," Diana said as she accepted her Lifetime Achievement award. "I feel so humbled by this. I love you so very much and I think you know that."

Taking the statue from her daughter, she added, "And I will hold on to that beautiful honor!"
