Amdocs: Fiscal 1Q Earnings Snapshot

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ Amdocs Ltd. (DOX) on Tuesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $101.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Chesterfield, Missouri-based company said it had profit of 72 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, were 98 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 99 cents per share.

The provider of computer systems integration posted revenue of $1.01 billion in the period, which met Street forecasts.

For the current quarter ending in April, Amdocs expects its per-share earnings to range from $1 to $1.06.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $995 million to $1.03 billion for the fiscal second quarter.

Amdocs shares have declined slightly more than 4 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $56.04, a decline of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
