Amdocs says it will buy Actix for $120M

NEW YORK (AP) -- Amdocs, which helps other companies improve how they serve customers, said Tuesday it will buy software maker Actix International for $120 million in cash.

Actix sells mobile network optimization solutions, which it says allows mobile network operators to reduce costs and deliver a better experience for customers. Amdocs Ltd. said its board and the board of Actix have both approved the deal, and says the acquisition should close by the end of September.

The St. Louis company said the acquisition won't have a significant impact on its adjusted net income in fiscal 2013 or 2014. It expects it to close by the end of the month.

Shares of Amdocs picked up 10 cents to $36.96 in afternoon trading.
