PITTSBURGH (AP) _ American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEO) on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $4.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had net income of 3 cents. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs, came to 37 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.
The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $1.31 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.27 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $191.3 million, or $1.12 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.31 billion.
American Eagle shares have declined 13% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $12.85, a drop of 37% in the last 12 months.
