SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) _ American Outdoor Brands Co. (AOBC) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $32.5 million.
On a per-share basis, the Springfield, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 57 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 66 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 54 cents per share.
The firearm maker posted revenue of $233.5 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $233.6 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, American Outdoor Brands expects its per-share earnings to range from 32 cents to 42 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $200 million to $220 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
American Outdoor Brands expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.33 to $2.43 per share, with revenue ranging from $874 million to $894 million.
American Outdoor Brands shares have dropped 8 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $19.38, a decrease of 23 percent in the last 12 months.
