AMN Healthcare: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (AMN) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $35.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the San Diego-based company said it had net income of 74 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 81 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 80 cents per share.

The health care staffing company posted revenue of $528.6 million in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $539.3 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $141.7 million, or $2.91 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.14 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, AMN Healthcare said it expects revenue in the range of $520 million to $528 million.

AMN Healthcare shares have climbed 15 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $65, a rise of 21 percent in the last 12 months.
